Dallas Protests 2020

Documentary

When the protests began in Dallas I watched on the news and on social media as my friends were shot with tear gas canisters, rubber bullets, and were brutally handled by the DallasPD. The regular media outlets weren’t covering the protests in what I felt was an accurate and fair way so I decided I would. I grabbed my camera and rollerblades and documented as much as possible for the next twenty days or so. When the police chief denied the use of tear gas on civilian protestors some of my photographs helped get her statement correct. I saw a lot of inspiring and enraging situations during my time covering the marches. Eventually some guy pulled a gun on the protestors and some of my footage got aired on the news. That’s when I made the decision to stop shooting and to take the photos offline for the security of the people in the photos. Now that time has past I’ve put the back online entirely at the link below.
